WELCOME To the Web Home of

Sew Happy Hearts Quilters

Organized in January, 2009, the club has grown from the original 10 attendees to over 30 registered members.

Purpose:

The express purpose of SHH is:

 To promote fellowship among persons in all aspects of quilting;

 To preserve our quilting heritage and traditions;

  To foster an appreciation of fine design and workmanship;

  To encourage quilt making and collecting quilts;

  To contribute to the knowledge of quilting techniques,, textiles, patterns, and quilt makers through education

  To participate in service to the community through quilt-related projects.

History:

On a cold winter's day in January, a few area quilters gathered with the purpose of exploring the interest in forming a quilting group. The idea had been brewing for many months. Several local people had expressed an interest in sharing their interest of quilting and other needle arts. A date and place were determined and

e-mails went out. There were 10 people present for the first meeting and increased to 14 by the second meeting. Ideas were shared and plans were made for future meetings and activities. The newly formed group felt that by meeting together everyone would benefit by the sharing of ideas and techniques.

Sew Happy Hearts meets the 4th Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm in the Community Room of the City Municipal Building, 533 Chestnut Ave. Neoga, Il.
